Our Trainers:
Meg Hamilton
- CrossFit Certified Level 1 Trainer (ANSI Accredited)
Meg has been training in CrossFit since the summer of 2008. Before turning to CrossFit Meg was a classically trained ballet dancer performing and teaching professionally until 2003. She also spent a few seasons in the competitive Jazz Dance arena as well as studied all other major forms of dance some thoroughly, and some just for fun. In 1999 she began to study Martial Arts. She earned her Black Belt in Kempo Karate and her 9th Student level in Wing Tsun Kung Fu.
As someone who has always enjoyed being active, she was always looking for a training method that could take her from regular gal to athlete, CrossFit not only helped her accomplish that, but it worked quickly. Whatever your sport, whatever your passion, CrossFit will make you better, faster and stronger at it!
Meg’s coaching philosophy: Take it personally. If the athlete is not successful it is probably the coach’s fault. Be inventive, motivate, encourage and internalize the goals of each and every athlete.
Alex Canders
- CrossFit Certified Level 1 Trainer (ANSI Accredited)
Alex got a taste of CrossFit in the Summer of 2008 but really dove in the Spring of 2009. Alex has been training in the martial arts since the age of 11, reaching Black Belt in several styles and systems (2nd in Kenpo Karate, 1st in Kombaton, 2nd Tech in Wing Tsun) and wrestling in high school. CrossFit came into play when Alex started competing in Martial Arts events such as Sport Karate, Sports Jujitsu, Brazilian Jujitsu and Kickboxing. CrossFit has been the only workout to beat what he had to go through in high school wrestling practice. CrossFit allowed Alex to last the rounds that were needed and increase power and agility.
Alex is currently addicted to CrossFit and is always looking for a better way. He is continually educating himself by researching other coaches' techniques as well as Journals. One of the best things about CrossFit for Alex is the way that each athlete will competitively push the other to a point where everyone will benefit and improve.
Michell Alfiere
Michell joined Concord CrossFit in 2010 and quickly became addicted. With her athletic background as a cheerleader in both high school and college, CrossFit enabled her to excel at her strengths and improve upon her weaknesses.
Michell CrossFitted through her entire pregnancy in 2011 and has experience training with pregnant women in CrossFit. She is eager to lend a hand in any way, whether it be coaching or just cheering others on. Michell believes CrossFit truly is for anyone looking to get fit, challenge him or herself, and have fun in a supportive environment.

Vanessa Rouchon Murphy
I started Crossfit in December of 2009 after having my second baby. I was overweight and out of shape. Since I had never been much of an athlete, I did not think I would be able to do much. Within a few weeks, I was hooked and within a year I could do things that I couldn't even do when I was a kid (climb up the rope, do pull-ups and lift heavy weights)!!! Crossfit made such a difference in my life that I decided to get the Crossfit Level 1 Certfication in 2011. Through Crossfit, I hope I can help others believe in themselves and become better athletes (or first time athletes).
